Tree Removal....

And lest you think it's just a little tree like this...

Allow me to interpret:

TREE removal!

Why?! It's such a beautiful tree, yes, we know. We're quite sad to see it go too.

However, it's quite a bit to close to the house.

And we're growing again...

Our HOUSE, that is! ;)

So yesterday, as soon as our local courtesy visitor left, Luke got out the chain saw and Clark came over to help. The big tree got a little limb cut... and then...

Great was the fall thereof!

And great was the cheering as soon as the children were set free to examine Dad's work.

And then the wood hauling... of course, off to a very ambitious start!

Riley and Phoenix stuck it out to the end, even helping rake up the pine needles.

Today is quite exciting too. Imagine waking up to this in your front yard!

Riley's first comment was "MOM!! I just heard something so loud it is shaking the whole house!! It's a CATERPILLAR!"

Thankfully it's raining so there are not 4 children begging to go outside... the windows are well hand-printed by this point and have little hope for recovery until this excitement dies down.

We'll keep you posted on the progress!

And on a funny note:
I overheard Riley introducing Phoenix to his favorite type of music: Cowboy Yodeling.
Phoenix was NOT impressed and said, "That is not music."
:)
He like wearing boots... maybe he'll come around! ;)
