One Fine Day

Just when Winter seems it will never end and everyone is so stir-crazy they just may snap... God blesses us with the most beautiful Spring day!! We had a wonderful time being outside, soaking up the sunshine, playing in the leftover puddles and then running in the rain that evening.

I think I've decided Spring is just about my favorite season... The freshness, the new life everywhere you look, the tiny little starts to the plants, the smell of rain and waking up to dew, the chirps and tweets of birds finally back... Or maybe it is that we can all get out of the house with out all the accessories of cold weather.

I'm quite anxious to start the garden! We've gotten seeds and we plan to build a few cold frames to start seeds outside. Also on the garden slate this year is a gate and an arbor! I'm excited to get going!! The boys are in the process of oiling the fences... What a mess! :) But they feel quite grown up!

Trey has become very attached to outside and his boots. If he notices the other children heading out the door, he becomes very determined to go along, often resulting in sneaking out with no boots or coat! When he has been discovered, he becomes very vocal and pitches a fit! He must be figuring out that this is not acceptable, however, and he's doing better about bringing me his boots and coat and asking nicely to go out. :)

Jack and Cici are loving more playtime with the children and Quinn has begun to take his "job" in caring for them very serious. He is often found sprawled out on the grass with the pups. I am so thankful to see him starting to bond and connect with the dogs! He tells me often that he has to take really good care of Jack and Cici so they grow up to be friendly and kind. He is attempting to teach them to sit, lie down and fetch. It's pretty incredible to see them respond and obey him!

When Scott is outside, he spends the majority of his time either running, riding his bike at breakneck speed, carving or trying out one of Riley's inventions.

Riley has been working on building a balance scales, a series of jumps for bikes and motorcycles, a boat, a fort and I'm sure I've missed a few projects!! He and Scott are so opposite that it's hilarious to watch them work together. They usually do a pretty good job about teaming up.

Halli. Oh Halli. She quite possibly may be the most complex one of them all! Maybe because she's a girl? One minute she riding her bike and seeing how big of skid marks she can put down and the next she's making crowns out of leaves or twigs or whatever she can find and twirling around in her own little world. She is princess and tomboy combined.

I am so thankful for each if these precious souls God has entrusted Luke and I with! I am continually amazed at how much He teaches me through them!
