So...
If you're a professional chicken watering system builder, you might just head out now, if you choose not to, you run the risk of being horribly disappointed!
I came upon Poultry Nipples!
Seriously, that's what they were called.
Ahem.
So I bought 5.
That is supposed to be enough for all the birds we're planning to house.
And we set them on the cabinet and tried to think of what in the world we could use that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and that would hold enough water...
Then it came to me today!
Our stock tank!
It's left over from the days when we had cows and sheep...
Those days are past.
Now I'd like goats and a pony.
Maybe someday.
So Luke hooked some pipe up to the stock tank and drilled holes in the pipe (the stock tank remained unharmed) and glued in the chicken nipples.
We set the tank on a snazzy piece of the tree we chopped down last spring and
TA DA!
We've got a 150 gallon chicken and duck watering system!!
Now hoping it doesn't freeze this winter...
We followed the manufacturers instructions on teaching the birds to drink from this... it took about 5 minutes. Not hard!
This Duck is named "Quinn".
After it's owner, of course.
There's also one named "Riley" and "Scott" and "Halli" and "Mom."
Because we have 5 of them.
Because we have 5 of them.
Neat.
