So.
There's this tiled design on my kitchen floor.
Maybe it's a style you'd love.
Well, let's just politely say, it's just not my style.
Ahem.
So we currently have 6 different flooring types that intersect in about a 10 foot area of our home...
The kitchen tile which is shown above. Lovely stuff.
There's the new tile we've laid in the addition.
There's the laundry room and bathroom that is linoleum.
There's a bedroom's carpet.
There's the hardwood looking Pergo-ish stuff in the eating area.
And temporary tile we stuck down in the pantry-that's-going-to-be-a-laundry-room-someday.
It's my fave. Black and White checkerboard.
And that's not even addressing that design >>shudder<< and the 2 inch transom strip tiles we stuck in between the addition and the kitchen....
Well, in an attempt to create a little more cohesiveness, we're removing the kitchen tile and we plan to lay more of the "addition tile".
Side note: Have you ever laid tile?
It's actually quite fun! We've discovered we enjoy it!
We started by using a chisel and hammer.
However, the tile layer obviously wanted this to be a non-removable job.
So.
One hour later, there were about 15 tiles removed.
Luke decided to run to the shop and get some jack-hammer-ish tool.
{Life saver!}
Trey got all helpy-helpy on us...
And so! We got to the point of only the }Lovely{ design.
And we all cheered
[wait, not Halli. She moaned about how much she loved the flowers.]
as it was removed!
The boys were the tile haulers...
These two mainly just destroyed the living room and played...
And wha-la!
Doesn't it look lovely?
Why, thank you!
We still need to remove the dishwasher, fridge and stove and remove the tile underneath.
And of course, lay the new tile.
That's all for now, folks!
I'll try to remember to post more pics as we progress...

I must say that your floral tile is WAY better than the carpet that was in our kitchen. At least you can clean tile...kitchen carpet plus kids is a different story.
