This afternoon, our sweet friend, Zeke, was involved in an accident and went Home to be with Jesus.
Please remember his family he left behind, as they grieve the loss of their son, brother and uncle.
Zeke was adopted just 19 months ago, only days before he aged out of the adoption program in Ch*na. He has touched the lives of SO many people. Meeting him, you just couldn't help but love home! His room-brightening smile, his friendly accented "Hello", the shoulder rubs, yo-yo tricks he could do...
Luke spoke Sunday on "counting it all joy" (James 1:2-3) and I'll have to admit, I'm having a hard time finding the joy this evening.
But...
I am thankful for the chance to know Zeke! I am thankful for the example his parents, Dwayne & Sherri, set as they stepped out into the unknown and loved as Jesus would have, as this beautiful family opened their arms to this 14 year old boy from the other side of the world. I am thankful this precious child got his dream of a family fulfilled, that he knew the love of a Father and Mother, that he knew what it was like to have sisters and brothers, nephews and nieces, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who all ADORED him! But most of all, I am thankful this special, special boy got to learn about his loving, caring Heavenly Father!
Please join me in lifting up the Bowman family right now.

This week I've been singing the song We Have This Moment... just keeps coming to mind. When I heard about Zeke going to be with Jesus so suddenly, the song seemed even more real. Truly, "we have this moment..." Praying, praying, praying.
So sad for your whole community and especially for the children and his family.
