Sometimes life around here can be crazy.
cRaZy.
CrAzY.
CRAZY!
There are things that are just "daily life" around here that I just don't want to blog about. Maybe cause they're so crazy most folks won't believe me. Maybe cause I just don't feel like having to think/talk about it anymore. Maybe cause I just don't want anyone to know what we R.E.A.L.L.Y deal with and I just want you to think my kiddos/family/mySELF/life is all just hunky-dory...
But not really.
(Although it's partly true)
But I think the big reason is I BELIEVE the trauma can and will be overcome. I BELIEVE the child will be healed (by the power of Jesus). I BELIEVE the "daily life" around here will someday be a distant memory and I don't want everyone and their sister to remember JUST the bad things that this child has went thru. Maybe someday I can share publicly more in depth what "daily life" around here looked like. Maybe the child will share it as part of their testimony of God's healing. But for now, know that we are crazy lots of days and don't think I "do it all" or have it all together.
I don't.
At ALL!
One thing I like to do when the crazy is just too crazy around here is projects.
Like painting.
And sanding.
And re-doing furniture.
Maybe sewing.
Make a new recipe.
Go get some random food I'm craving.
Or redecorating.
Anything that can for the moment get my mind off of the crazy and get the little folks involved in SOMETHING ELSE!!!
So the projects around here have been rolling.
We've done a bit of sanding, painting, re-doing furniture, sewing, fooding, re-decorating...
The projects are an outlet for me.
They help me out crazy the crazy.
(Have you ever watched Christine Moers speak on "When our kids are stuck"? Search it on YouTube... I did BEFORE we had traumatized children in our home and DID.NOT.GET.IT. but I think I do now...)
So my out crazy the crazy can look like any of the above or have something to do with animals... like go get more kittens (yes, we did) or tell a friend we'd gladly take 2 of the bunnies her son is raising to raise money for an orphanage in Cambodia (Umm hum!) or get more chickens... (did that too- a while back).
So.
Do it all?
NO!!!
Super Mom?
NO!!!
Crazy mom?
Yep.
Much more fitting.
Here's some of the recent projects in the works...
Although I *love* the color, the paint job was TERRIBLE and the painted-on knobs were FRIGHTENING! So, a-sanding we went and now it's ready for a NEW paint job!
The bunnies soooon to be added to our troop...
See? I crave TACOS ASADA! Yummy!
I enjoy my lil flock of chicks ;)
Ahh, lovely new crib color! *AQUA!*
After more than a year... some decor!
Sometimes I help my sons catch FROGS...
Or buy a broken bed at a yard sale... now to fix 'er up
These are some of the *crazy* remedies I've found. I'm guessing they help me more than any crazed children, but I've gotta stay sane somehow...!
SO... please de-bunk any myth you've thought up about sanity and know when the projects/animals are abounding, I'm *probably* just needing a crazy-reliever!
(pedicures and such just.are.NOT.my.thing!!!)

Isn't it interesting how God made us all different and how we all react to stress differently??! At least YOUR way accomplishes something, dear! That's a huge plus. Thanks for the wonderful morning. Zeke LOVES your family and when you come to our house he wants Luke to come too :) so maybe we can do an evening.
