Here a QUACK, there a QUACK...

EVERYWHERE a QUACK QUACK!!

Meet our newest addition to the "funny farm"...

Honk, Quack, Squawk, Waddle and Splash.

The children and I went to the local farm 'n feed store to get ducks. Of all things.
Chickens to come, hopefully... but ducks to get started with.

Riley cannot eat chicken eggs but duck eggs work fine for him, so instead of driving an hour to buy a dozen duck eggs for $5.00, we're going to give it a shot ourselves!

I let each of the children choose a breed of chicken they thought looked good and now we'll have to run them by Luke for approval. If we get a couple of each breed, we should have a fairly colorful run of hens around here!

Ooooh the excitement!

I have always liked ducks...can't convince my husband that we need to get some! =) What a fun thing for the kiddos too!

We had two ducks growing up! Boy was that interesting! When they get big you might want to watch out that they don't get fisty! Ours would waddle up behind us and sneak a quick bite out of our rears! Ouch! Still remember it. :) So fun for your kids. I think of you [seriously] often as I'm busy with my 3 littles ... and I think of you with your six (especially since the baby is exactly the age of my littlest). :) God bless you with strength and patience today, Anna. :)
